About Us
Paul Richards has been growing medicinal herbs organically and producing herbal products for over twenty years. With a degree in Botany and a Phd. in plant physiology, Paul has a deep knowledge of a wide range of medicinal plants, together with ongoing experience of their cultivation and processing.
Having supplied tinctures to Postlethwaite's for several years, Paul has now taken over the brand from James Postlethwaite, a qualified herbalist who founded Postlethwaite's Herbal Products over ten years ago.
James' excellent work, The Essential Family Herb Guide can still be consulted on this website.
Our Tinctures
Our tinctures are made from certified organic herbs, when available,
or from wild-crafted sources. Most are obtained from fresh herbs grown in the UK -
mainly on our own herb farm in Herefordshire. We specialise in
high-strength tinctures - generally this is the maximum strength achievable
whilst still covering the chopped herb with alcohol. Being more
concentrated, these are ideally suited to use in low-volume dropper bottles.
Our ointments and oils are made on the farm, mainly using our own herbs.
